Arkansas man drowns in Current River in Missouri

(DONIPHAN, Mo., AP) — The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that an Arkansas man drowned while canoeing in the Current River.
The victim was identified as 57-year-old Stephen T. Hill of Paragould, Ark.
The patrol reported he drowned Sunday morning when his 16-foot canoe tipped over in the river about five miles north of Doniphan, Mo.
Another person in the canoe was able to swim to shore.
