Missouri woman dies after street-racing cars hit her SUV

(FRONTENAC, Mo., AP) — Authorities say a St. Louis-area woman has died after two drivers crashed into her sport utility vehicle while racing.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/29PeIWn) reports that 73-year-old Kathleen Koutroubis was conscious after the Friday night crash in Frontenac. But she complained of stomach pain at a hospital and died of internal injuries over the weekend.
Frontenac police say a Ford Mustang and a BMW were racing when the BMW hit the back of Koutroubis’ SUV. Koutroubis veered into the next lane, and the Mustang also struck her vehicle.
Police are seeking involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated charges against the 44- and 39-year-old drivers.
Friend Kim Elliott said the crash happened while Koutroubis was driving home from feeding a home-bound friend and dropping off a bridal shower present.
