Ruth Irene Norton

Ruth Irene Norton, 75, died Saturday, Feb. 14, at St Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19 at the New Life Fellowship Baptist Church 400 South Main Holden, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Feb. 19, at New Life Fellowship Baptist Church, Holden, Missouri. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Warrensburg, Missouri.
Ruth was born Sept. 9, 1939, in Warrensburg, Missouri, the daughter of Harry Summers and Edna (Adams) Summers. She married Harlan Norton on June 22, 1996. Ruth lived in the Holden and Warrensburg area most of her life. She was a stay-at-home mother and a proud member of New Life Fellowship Baptist Church in Holden.
Surviving her passing are three daughters, Jewel Doughty and husband, Randy, Warrensburg; Kelly Rivera and husband, Christopher, Washington; Valerie McElfresh and husband, Steve, Washington; stepdaughter, Michele Copelin, Independence, Missouri; stepson, Lester Norton, Washington; brother, William Whitehead; three sisters, Anna Mae Berry, Charlene Patterson and Ruby Simpson; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Norton, on January 2015.
