Professionals in Aging group to meet Thursday

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – Professionals in Aging, a new group focused on providing a network for those who serve older adults in Johnson County, Mo., is scheduled to meet from 7-8:30 a.m. Thursday at Western Missouri Medical Center.
The Professionals in Aging group is a coalition of agencies, organizations, and businesses that serve older adults, according to a news release. The group brings together professionals in the areas of medicine, social service, academia, business, law and long-term care to network, share resources, and learn from one another.

Rona McNally, director of special programs at Care Connection for Aging Services, will speak about the top 10 scams from 2013 and how to avoid them.
Information about the options and assistance available related to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will also be presented. Breakfast will be provided, sponsored by Harmony Gardens.
