Warrensburg police chase ends in crash

(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) — A Kansas City man took Warrensburg police on a high-speed chase through town on Aug. 25.
Christopher D. Haggins, 22, crashed in Oak Grove and was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, according to Warrensburg Police Department reports.
Police pursued Haggins from the intersection of Maguire and South streets to northbound Route 13. State troopers took up the pursuit at Interstate 70. Troopers later notified Warrensburg Police that Haggins wrecked and was arrested in Oak Grove.
The pursuit stretched 30 miles from Warrensburg to Oak Grove. Haggins was cited with 25 traffic violations, including improper passing on hills and near intersections, failure to obey traffic signals and yield to emergency vehicles, driving against the flow of traffic, and careless and imprudent driving, according to Warrensburg Police reports.
Haggins was charged Aug. 25 in Lafayette County with resisting arrest and creating a substantial risk of injury, a class D felony. He was released the same day on a $5,000 surety bond. Haggins is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in Lafayette County.
