On Nov. 19 at 9:06 a.m., University of Central Missouri students gathered outside of the Union Mall, located on the east side of the Elliot Student Union, to express their opposing views to demonstrator Jeffrey Mullen. Many students brought LGBTQ+ flags to the scene to show support for the LGBTQ+ community.

This graphic depicts the number of reported sexual assault cases at the University of Central Missouri from 2010-2020. According to UCM Public Safety, five of the rapes reported in 2014 occurred in 2012 and one in 2013. Sophomore environmental safety major Ean Kenyon receives his first vaccine at the clinic held on April 12. “I feel really good, both my parents have gotten it already,” Kenyon said. “I know a lot of non-students have gotten it, so it’s really nice to see that they’re finally taking care of the college kids.” The clinic was hosted in the multipurpose building with UCM nursing students administering the vaccine to fellow students.

Erin Frazier, sophomore secondary education major, makes Valentine’s Day cards for students in quarantine and for the residents of Ridgecrest Nursing Center. “Specifically for today it’s awesome because one of my sisters was telling us earlier that she was born premature, so she spent a lot of time in the NICU,” Frazier said. “So this is all really impactful for her because she’s able to give back to the NICU nurses and to the kids who are in Children’s Mercy.”
