Mules in 17th place after day 1 at NCAA golf championships

(HERSHEY, Pa.) — The Central Missouri Mules golf team sits in 17th place after firing a 307 on the first day of the NCAA-II Championships at the East Course at Hershey Country Club on Monday.
Travis Mays had the low round for UCM after shooting a two-over par 73. He is in a tie for 23rd place. Cy Moritz, Sam Migdal and Teddy Jones all shot seven-over par 78s in round one, while Robby Hughey shot a 12-over 83.
Barry University is in the lead at even par, 284. Adam Svensson, of Barry, is the individual leader after shooting a three-under par 68 in round one.
The top eight teams at the completion of the three-round tournament move on to the match play portion of the championships.
