Keuna Flax named Daktronics Second-Team All-American

(ABILENE, Texas) – Junior forward Keuna Flax was named to the Daktronics Division II All-America Team, after leading the Central Missouri Jennies to their highest finish in the MIAA in 13 years.
Flax garnered Second Team honors, and becomes the second Jennie in as many seasons to earn an All-American award.
Flax led the MIAA in scoring, averaging 19.7 points per game, and ranked ninth in Division II. She also ranked seventh in the league in rebounding, pulling down an average of 7.7 rebounds per game. She was third in the MIAA with a 50.5% shooting percentage.
The Haltom City, Texas native earned All-MIAA First Team honors earlier this season, and was named to the MIAA All-Tournament team after leading the Jennies to the championship game.
The honor is Flax’s first since joining UCM this year, but her second career All-American award. she was named an NJCAA All-American after leading Trinity Valley CC to an undefeated season and national championship a year ago. Flax also earns an All-American honor after senior Nicole Caddell was named a WBCA All-American Honorable Mention last season.
The Jennies finished the year with a 24-6 record, and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last four seasons.
The D2SIDA All-America women’s basketball team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The teams are voted on by the members of D2SIDA, NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association.
