Eddy Lerma Agueros Jr., 65, of Warrensburg, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, at his home.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.
He was born June 10, 1953, in San Antonio, Texas, the son of Eddy and Mary (Alvarado) Agueros.
He and Monique Blanchette were united in marriage on May 5, 1990, in Marathon, Florida.
Eddy retired from the James C. Kirkpatrick Library at the University of Central Missouri in 2018 where he worked as manager of access services. He earned his Master of Science in sociology from UCM. He enjoyed music and rooting for the Chiefs and Royals.
Eddy is survived by his wife, Monique, of the home; his mother, Mary; four children, John (Alyssa) Agueros, of Warrensburg; Nicole Agueros-Deese, of West Palm Beach, Florida; Alexander Agueros, of Warrensburg; and Danielle Agueros and fiancé, Zadac Lankford, of Warrensburg; his grandson, Colin Agueros, of Warrensburg; and soon-to-be grandson Lucas Agueros; and his siblings, Rosemary (Jay) Petersen, of San Antonio, Texas; Paul (Sandy) Agueros, of Melbourne, Florida; and Trisha Agueros, of Warrensburg. Eddy is also survived by many nieces and nephews; his dog, Jenny; his cat, Simba; and his granddogs, Vada and Obi.
He was a good father, good husband and good friend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Johnson County Cancer Foundation and can be left in care of the funeral home.
