Frances Louise Lakey, 80, died Thursday, Dec. 13, in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Frances was born on March 28, 1938, in Warrensburg, the daughter of Blondy Hall Lakey and Anna Lee (Reed) Lakey. For many years, she co-operated a trash collecting company that serviced the Johnson County area. Her hobbies included crocheting, fishing and spending as much time as she could outside. She will be lovingly remembered as a frequent patron of KFC and the Checker Tavern. Most of all, she treasured her family, her friends and her cats.
Frances was preceded in death by her son, Glen Thomas “Tommy” Blankenship and 11 brothers and sisters.
Frances is survived by five children: Wanda Blankenship, of Minnesota; Cindy Golden, of Oklahoma; Richard Blankenship (Patty), of Minnesota; David Blankenship, of Missouri; and Norman Blankenship (Cindy), of Minnesota; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Bollmeyer, of Missouri; and numerous extended family and friends.
