Elaine Borer

Elaine Borer, 82, of Holden, died Nov. 4, at the Holden Manor Care Center.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Holden Cemetery.
Elaine was born Oct. 12, 1936, to Eugene A. Borer and Fern Elizabeth (Duncan) Borer in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Elaine attended school in Holden and graduated from Holden High. She worked for Farmers and Commercial Bank for 18 years, and after leaving the bank she owned and operated Borer’s Liquor Store in downtown Holden. She closed the liquor store after 22 years in business and opened Elaine’s Flowers, which she owned and operated for 20 years before becoming sick and closing the flower shop.
Elaine is survived by her brother, Walter Borer and wife, Pat, of Pleasant Hill. She was preceded in death by her brother’s first wife, Donna Sue, in 1988.
