Barbara Dorene Henry, 70, of Holden, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 3 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7 at Holden First Baptist Church with interment following at Holden Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home in Holden.
She was born April 25, 1942 in Holden, a daughter of Carl and Lena (Eissler) Truninger.  Barbara graduated from Holden High School in 1960 and lived in Clinton, Raytown and Gladstone before returning to Holden in 1984. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Holden and an avid gardener. She was employed as a quality control inspector at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant and retired in 2011.
She was always one to think of others before herself. She was tough and hard working, and she loved her yard and to work in her flowers.
After a battle with cancer, Barbara leaves behind Jeff and Liz, of Platte Woods, Mo.; two daughters, Janice Marie Henry, of Kansas City, Mo., and Michelle Kerr and husband, Jess, of Nixa, Mo.; two brothers, John and Bill Truninger, of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; two sisters, Katherine Corkran, of Holden, and Donna Morris, of Raytown, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Jessica and Luke.
Memorials are suggested to Holden First Baptist Church.
