Saundra Coon

Saundra Kay Coon, 72, of Concordia, Missouri, died on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the Lutheran Nursing Home in Concordia.
Following cremation, no services are scheduled.
Saundra was born on October 31, 1943, in San Francisco, California, the daughter of Earl and Peggy (Trippe) Raby. She moved, with her family to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1954. Saundra was a free spirit, who was passionate about and actively supported racial equality. She loved to travel and was fortunate to visit many far-ranging countries and, upon occasion, undertake residence in some. Even so, she always deeming the area, north of San Francisco, to be her real home. She returned there in 1963 and, throughout the latter 1960s, lived in Mendocino; subsequently moving to Jamaica and Georgia before returning to the greater Kansas City area; then, to Knob Noster, Warrensburg, Sedalia and, eventually, Concordia in December of 2010.
Saundra’s survived by her son, Gagen Absalom Coon; her former husband, Edmund Coon, and Gagen’s wife, Kimberley, of Fort Bragg, California; and their daughter, Ashley; her sister, Janice Breon and husband, Leonard, of Knob Noster, Missouri; her brother, Gary Raby, of Shawnee, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews. Saundra was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Alfred Raby.
