Frances Louise Zvacek Shore Baldwin, 93, of Holden, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 15 at home.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Holden with Father Pete Savidge officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Holden.
There will be a Rosary Service 6 p.m. Tuesday at Williams funeral Chapel in Holden, immediately followed by visitation from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Frances was born Feb. 7, 1920, near Holden, the daughter of Joseph Raphael Zvacek and Frances Edna (Goff) Zvacek. She was baptized on Jan. 17, 1926, at the age of 6. She was confirmed on May 23 of that same year by Fr. Fitzgerald at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Frances graduated from Holden High School in 1937. On July 4, 1945, she married Charles B. Shore, the love of her life, in St. Patrick’s Rectory, by Father William Connell, with only her parents present as witnesses.
Charles died on Oct. 7, 1979. After four years, she married Thomas Theodore Baldwin on July 9, 1983, at St. Patrick’s Church by monsignor Patrick O’Connor.
During the war years, she worked at Hipsch Shirt Factory. Next, she worked for Lacy French, a tax consultant. More recently, Frances was a manager with Haley’s Tax service, until retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and a lifetime member of St. Patrick’s Altar Society.
Survivors include her son, Charles “Butch” Shore and wife, Nancy of Blue Springs, Mo.; three grandchildren, Scott Shore of Holden; Lisa Thompson and husband, Jeremy, of Lone Jack, Mo.; and Kim Burkeybile and husband, Randy of Higginsville, Mo.; two great grandchildren, Devyn Burkeybile and wife, Allison, and Kristen Burkeybile; sister, Lucille Daldrup of Holden; brother, Gene Zvacek and wife, Lena Mae, of Lee’’s Summit, Mo.; stepdaughter, Sally Meyers and husband, John, of Raymore, Mo.; five step grandsons; 12 step great grandchildren; two step great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Oscar, Lawrence and Vernon Zvacek; two sisters, Rosemary Jokubeit and Josephine Banes and a daughter-in-law, Connie Shore.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Patrick’s Building Fund or Mt. Calvary Cemetery Association.
