Martha Marie Duncan

Martha Marie Duncan, 98, died Monday Nov. 11.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warrensburg with interment at MT. Calvary Cemetery in Holden. Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was born on July 11, 1915 to Cyrus M. and Ella Mary (Dore) Metzler. She graduated from Holden High School in 1932. She married Elmer S. Duncan on Feb. 7, 1942. They lived in Holden until 1970 and moved to Warrensburg in 1970. She had worked at Dunhill Manufacturing in Holden during World War II and later in food Services at CMSU until her retirement in 1984.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Jerry) Corkran of Waukesha, Wis.; two granddaughters, Shari Young of Denver, Colo., and Lycia (Shannon) Thornburg of Rapid City, S.D.; 10 great grandchildren, Caitlin Young, Austin Young, Braden Young, Kendal Young, Ainsleigh Scott, Alastrina Scott, Arabella Scott, Scott Thornburg, Aidan Thornburg and Halley Thornburg; and a sister, Mabel Duncan.
She was proceeded in death by Elmer Duncan in 1988; son, James M. Duncan in 1989; and five sisters, Maude Kauffman, Grace Carroll, Mildred Metzler, Elida Markel and Florence Jacobs.
Services are under the direction of Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home.
