Daniel Lee Webber

Daniel Lee Webber, 70, formerly of Vincennes, Indiana, died April 3 at the Warrensburg Manor.

A funeral service was held on Monday, at 1 p.m., at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, with Pastor Sid Tiller officiating. Interment with full military honors followed in Knob Noster Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Claude Webber, brother; Franklin Webber, nephew; Kirby Webber, nephew; Micah Webber, great-nephew; Chelsey Smith, great-niece; and Alec Smith, great-nephew.
Family received friends from noon until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
Daniel was born on July 26, 1948, the last of 12 children born to the Reverend John Ellsworth and Nora Edith Webber, in Vincennes, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
Surviving members of the family are brother Dewey Webber of Connersville, Indiana; sister, Sylvia Howder of Vincennes, and brother Claude Webber (wife Nedra) of Knob Noster, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.
Daniel had many job titles in his life but the most appreciated and honored was his two tours in Vietnam. His first home base was Fort Knox, Kentucky, and the second home base was Ft. Still, Oklahoma. Daniel holds the following honors: Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Commendation Medal (3d OLC), Vietnam Service Medal with one Silver Star and one Bronze Service Star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Device (1960), Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation Badge; Republic of Vietnam Civil Actions Honor Medal First Class Unit Citation Badge, Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar, Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.
