Mae was a talented woman. She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing clothing for her children and grandchildren, and book bags for the Warrensburg United Methodist Church’s mission trips. She did not have a lengthy, formal education, but she was an amazing and fearless problem solver, building rooms, shelves and easier ways to keep house, garden and sew. She believed family was important and became the keeper of family history, tracking and facilitating the connections of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a woman who believed in treating others with generosity and kindness and giving grace to all. Her gentle manner and sweet smile will be greatly missed.
Mae is survived by her children, Carol Wade of Independence, Diane (John) Bixby of Lee’s Summit, and David Wade of Warrensburg; her grandsons, Jacob (Marjorie) Wade of Raymore and Brian (Kelly) Bixby of Lee’s Summit; and one great-grandson, Martin Wade.
