Jackie Sylvester Ford Jr.

Jackie Sylvester Ford Jr., 82, of Holden, Mo., died Tuesday, July 2 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
A funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 7 at Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home in Holden. Interment will be in Holden Cemetery.
Friends may call 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday.
He was born May 24, 1931, in Wagoner, Okla., the son of Jack and Waunita B. (Quintin) Ford. He served an enlistment in the Oklahoma National Guard, and on Oct. 4, 1963, he married Mary Layland. They lived in Kansas City, Mo., until moving to Holden 37 years ago. Jackie had worked for Western Electric Corporation in Lee’s Summit prior to retiring. He played steel guitar with some bands in Holden.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; one son, Jason Ford, of Holden; two daughters, Georgia Kelly, of Phrump, Nev., and Boisdee Peel, of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Eleta Jo McNeil, of Holden; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
