Roderick Stewart Atkins

Roderick Stewart Atkins, 45, of Warrensburg, died Sunday, Jan. 6 at his home.

Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with Brother Charles Brant officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until service Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born March 15, 1967 in Great Falls, Mont., the son of Norvin and Joyce (Parsons) Atkins.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Evans on Aug. 8, 1997 in Olathe, Kan.
Rod was a 1986 graduate of Crest Ridge High School. He worked in Quality Control for Dish Network. Rod was a former member of Liberty Baptist Church in Fayetteville and volunteered for the Youth Group at church. He loved playing the guitar and listening to music.
Rod is survived by his wife, Patricia, of the home; two daughters, Sarah Atkins, of Finland, and Berkley Atkins, of Warrensburg; his parents, Joyce and Norvin Atkins, of Warrensburg; one sister, Monica King, of Arkansas; two brothers, Richard Atkins, of North Carolina; and Randy Atkins, of Richmond, Va.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Steve Atkins.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Roderick Atkins Memorial Fund with checks made payable to Patricia Atkins and these may be left at the funeral home.
