On Nov. 19 at 9:06 a.m., University of Central Missouri students gathered outside of the Union Mall, located on the east side of the Elliot Student Union, to express their opposing views to demonstrator Jeffrey Mullen. Many students brought LGBTQ+ flags to the scene to show support for the LGBTQ+ community.

WHS presents 'Bye Bye Birdie starting Thursday

The Warrensburg High School Theatre Department is presenting “Bye Bye Birdie” Thursday through Saturday at the high school. Curtain opens at 7 p.m. for all shows. The 1950s-era production chronicles the life of popular rock ‘n’ roll star Conrad Birdie, who is being drafted into the Army. Die-hard fans are crushed by this announcement, and the rock star’s agent, Albert, struggles with his plans for the future.
The play is a depiction of the 1963 film by the same name that starred Anne Margaret, Janet Lee and Dick Van Dyke.

Head student costume director, junior Caitlin Kenney, and her partners had the challenge of turning high school students in 2017 into a 1950s heartthrob, middle aged adults, to obnoxious teens.
