Bernice Laverne Henson

Bernice Laverne Henson, 90, formerly of Warrensburg, Mo., and Abilene, Texas, died at the Concordia Good Sheppard home Oct. 28.
Funeral services were Wednesday at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with Brother Charles Brant officiating.
Interment followed at the Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo.
Bernice was born in Anson, Texas, on Oct. 12, 1922. She was the wife of the late Vernon T. Henson. They had been married for 72 years before his passing on Aug. 23. Bernice was a loving, kind, caring homemaker. She loved Southern cooking, fishing and playing board games with her grandchildren. Bernice was loved and treasured by her family.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, V. Ronald and Millie Henson of Warrensburg, and Billy L. and Sheila Henson of Ozark, Mo.; her grandchildren, Lee Henson Clark, Ronda Kay and Mark Goodman, Warrensburg; Alden and Heather Henson, Brad Henson, Chad and Julie Henson, and Cody Henson; three step-grandchildren, Jania Polley, Phillip and John Stergon; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and can be left in care of the funeral home.
