Dayton Ray Martin, 87, of Knob Noster, Missouri, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Dayton was born Jan. 21, 1928, south of Montserrat, the son of Lewis C. and Pearl M. (Gowins) Martin. He graduated from College High School in Warrensburg, Missouri, in 1946. He served in the United States Army. In February of 1954, Dayton went to work at Bendix, later known as Allied Signal. He retired from Allied Signal in December of 1990. He enjoyed meeting up with friends at Panther Steak House in Knob Noster and helping oversee the Allen Farm.
Survivors include a sister, Wenonah Angier, of Vacaville, California; brother, Lewis Martin Jr. and wife, Ruth, of Janesville, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Nellie Martin, of Warrensburg; several nieces and nephews; and very dear friends, Densil, Cynthia Allen and family. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Charles, and his sister, Juanita Armstrong.
Per Dayton’s wishes, following cremation, there will be no services.
Arrangements entrusted to Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg.
