Fred Carl Koenig, 81, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Sunday, Aug. 30, at Country Club Care Center.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Elks Lodge No. 673 in Warrensburg.
He was born Feb. 18, 1934, in Higginsville, Missouri, the son of Fred Andrew and Frances (Dennis) Koenig.
Fred was a graduate of Higginsville High School, class of 1951. He then attended Central Missouri State College. Fred worked as an electronics repairman and was the owner and operator of B&K TV Repair Service in Warrensburg from 1957 to 1992. Fred loved spending his time with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and canning. Fred was an avid collector of antiques and was a familiar face at auctions in and around Johnson County. He was a longtime member of Elks Lodge No. 673 in Warrensburg.
Fred is survived by his children, Jody Schmidt and husband, Peter, of Columbia, Missouri; Jess Koenig and wife, Karen, of Odessa, Missouri; Jim Koenig and wife, Mary, of Raytown, Missouri; Julie Greenwood and husband, Rob, of Warrensburg; and Noel Moore, of Rose Hill, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Jon Koenig and Justin Koenig (Jess), Megan Hanna, James Koenig and Joe Koenig (Jim), Johanna Greenwood (Julie) and Paige Moore (Noel); and one great-grandson, Andrew Koenig.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis Koenig.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Ruthe Boles Koenig Scholarship Fund at UCM or the Ginni Koenig Scholarship Fund at UCM. Both may be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
