Nell Elizabeth Evans

Nell Elizabeth Evans, 95, formerly of Warrensburg, Missouri, died March 25 in Mansfield, Texas, where she had resided since 2001 with Virgle and Marty Fredrick, her niece.
A visitation service will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
She was born March 7, 1920, in Warrensburg to Jessie O. and Gertrude Elizabeth Young.
She married Richard Paul Evans on March 17, 1946, who preceded her in death, June 19, 1999.
Mrs. Evans was a graduate of College High School and Central Missouri State University. She retired from a civil service career spanning 44 years at Whiteman Air Force Base, beginning when it was the Sedalia Glider Base. While there she received numerous awards and recognition for her service. She taught school briefly and was also secretary to the dean at Central Missouri State. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Warrensburg and sang in the choir. She loved music all her life and in early years participated in a girls quartet and sang duets with her sister, Bettie Lou, who died in 2010. She will always be remembered for her generous and positive attitude.
She is survived by nieces, Marty, Susan, Becky and Mindy and nephews, Lee and Jeff and their children.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri State Veterans Home of Warrensburg and can be left in care of the funeral home.
