Marjorie Belle Pierce

Marjorie Belle Pierce, 82, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Sunday, March 22, at Ridgecrest Nursing Center in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Visitation services will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Warrensburg, Missouri. Funeral services will begin at 6 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Basye officiating.  Pallbearers will be Brad Hunter, Keith Fenwick, Ryan Fenwick, Steve Arnold, Brett Hieronymus, Ed Phillips, Scott Maple and Mike Magee.  Honorary pallbearer will be Jim Arnold.
Interment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 26 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery in Hutchinson, Kansas.
She was born July 19, 1932, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jack and Hortense (Rankin) Smith.
Marjorie was a graduate of Hutchinson High School in Hutchinson, Kansas.  She then attended and received both bachelors and masters degrees from University of Kansas.  Marjorie was a homemaker and mother until 1983 and then began teaching high school English and Drama at Knob Noster High School until she retired in 2007 after 24 years.  She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Warrensburg, Missouri.
Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Kirsten Fenwick and husband Keith of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and Tori Hunter and husband Brad of Warrensburg, Missouri; one sister, Margueriette Perfette of Newton, Kansas, three grandchildren, Christian Fenwick of Kansas City, Missouri; Ashley Fenwick and Ryan Fenwick both of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; and one cousin, Jim Arnold of Oilton, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Ben Smith.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Marjorie Pierce Scholarship Fund for the Fine Arts, c/o Brad Hunter, 401 Swallow Street, Warrensburg, Missouri, and can also be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri.
