David Lee Calhoon, 80 of Warsaw, Missouri formerly of Warrensburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Warsaw Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15th at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Pastor Mike Cassidy of First United Methodist Church in Cole Camp officiating. Entombment will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens.
David was born March 29, 1934 in Warrensburg, the son of Paul and Margaret (Feugate) Calhoon. He married Barbara C. Long on Feb. 19, 1972 in Warrensburg. He resided in the state of Washington for twelve years, prior to moving to Alaska for a brief time. Dave lived in Warsaw since 2005. He owned and operated TNT Concrete. He enjoyed fishing and reading western books.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; three sons: Mike Calhoon and wife, Diane of Columbus, Missouri; Jesse Calhoon and wife, Joanne of Warsaw, Missouri and David Calhoon, Jr. of Arizona; two stepsons: Jim Metcalf and wife, Barb of Warrensburg, Missouri and Steve Simpson of Washington State; five stepdaughters: Gwen Lucas and husband, Stan of Orlando, Florida; Lisa Pyatt of Warrensburg, Missouri; Teresa Ochsenbein of Knob Noster, Missouri; Mary Beth Marr and John of Freeman, Missouri; and Rebecca Metcalf of Virginia Beach, Virginia; twenty five grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by both parents and three brothers; Paul Edwin, Lester and Marvin Reese Calhoon.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Johnson County Cancer Foundation, in care of the funeral chapel.
