Dennis R. Werneke, 66, of Knob Noster, Missouri, died Monday, Dec. 15, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at Heartland Church north of Knob Noster with Brother Charles Brant and Pastor Greg Morris officiating.
Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery north of Knob Noster.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
He was born April 5, 1948, in Warrensburg, the son of Alvin H. and Josephine (Montague) Werneke.
Dennis was a graduate of Knob Noster High School, class of 1966. He served in the U.S. Army from February 1969 to November 1970. Dennis was a farmer and cattleman.
Dennis is survived by one daughter, Charay Zimmerschied and husband, Brian; two sons, Brian Werneke and wife, Nichole; and Roger Werneke and wife, Tina, all of Knob Noster; one brother, Glen Werneke and wife, Sherry, of Neosho, Missouri; two sisters, Joanne Jacobson of Merriam, Kansas; and Monty Watts and husband, Larry, of Greenwood, Missouri; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alvin Edward Werneke.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and can be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
