Marjorie Lee Barry, 89, of Warrensburg, Mo., died Oct. 23 at her home.
Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 29, at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Basye officiating. Pallbearers will be Ed Shanks, Mike Haller, Jason Shanks, Casey Laws, Clayton Gates and Thomas Crate.
Friends may call Oct. 28 until service time at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Mo.
She was born on November 28, 1924, to Maurice P. Halley and Jessie L. (Jarman) Halley.
On December 7, 1945, she married Robert Tackett who preceded her in death in 1988. On November 14, 1992 she married George Barry who preceded her in death in 1993.
Marjorie spent her childhood in Centerview, Mo., before moving to Warrensburg to attend college. She graduated from CMSC with a degree in Home Economics and taught in the Knob Noster School District. Her love of sewing progressed from clothing to quilting, and she was a featured exhibitor at the Oregon Sisters Quilt Show in 2006. Marjorie was a member of the ABC Club, PEO Chapter CB, WMMC Auxiliary, the Inspired Quilters and the First Christian Church.
Marjorie is survived by three daughters, Dee Shanks and husband Ed of Bend, Ore.; Debbie Haller and husband Mike of Warrensburg, Mo.; grandchildren Julie Shanks Haan, Jason (Gerri) Shanks, Amy (Clayton) Gates, Carrie (Casey) Laws, Sarah (Thomas) Crate and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dee Halley, her sister Jane Bell and son David Tackett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church or Johnson County Hospice, and both may be left in care of funeral home.
