Karl D. Preston

Karl D. Preston, 54, of Chilhowee, died Saturday, Sept. 22 at his home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 at the Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with the Rev. Neil Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow atSunsetHillCemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the funeral home.
He was born July 1, 1958, in Warrensburg, the son of Stanley and Blanche Irene (Whitfield) Preston.
On Feb. 11, 1981, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie Clear in Warrensburg. She preceded him in death on Aug. 29, 2012.
Karl worked in the Shipping and Receiving Department at theUniversityofCentralMissouri. He enjoyed playing the guitar, playing pool with his friends in Chilhowee and had a soft spot for abandoned animals, taking many of them in throughout the years.  Karl will be remembered by his family and friends for his sarcastic sense of humor and dry wit.
He is survived by one brother, Ralph Preston and wife Wanda of Blairstown; and one sister, Doris Evelyn Beasley and husband Don of Belton; and many nieces and nephews.
Karl was also preceded in death by his parents in 2009 and 2010.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Building.
