Helen Marie Badger

Helen Marie Badger, 91 of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Monday, Aug. 4, at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with the Rev. Danny Hendrickson of Northern Hills Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Helen was born July 12, 1923, in Herman, Missouri, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Struttman) Wassenberg. She was united in marriage to Chester R. Badger on May 29, 1942, in St. Louis. She never ceased to be the “wife of his youth.” Following the war, the couple moved several times prior to making their home in Pontiac, Illinois, for 12 years. They have resided in Warrensburg since 1964.
The couple wintered in Texas for several years. Helen was a member of Northern Hills Baptist Church. She did mission work with her husband in both Mexico and Haiti. The couple helped start several churches in the Warrensburg area throughout the years.
Survivors include her husband, Chester; two daughters, Karen Reed of Wilmington, Ohio, and Brenda Brooks and husband, Mark, of Warrensburg; four sons, Charles “Scott” Badger and wife, Terry, of Warrensburg; Dr. Chester Robert “Bob” Badger Jr. and wife, Elizabeth, of Dubuque, Iowa; Dr. Bruce Badger and wife, Linda, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; and Brian Badger and wife, Teresa, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Blust and Lucille Mueller.
