John Raymond Doussard

John Raymond Doussard, 89, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Friday, June 27, at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.
John was born Aug. 3, 1924, in East St. Louis, Illinois, the son of Raymond and Vashti (Whitsell) Doussard. Following graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served in the Naval Air Corp. After his discharge from active duty, John graduated from St. Louis University with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. He and his family lived in South Bend, Indiana, for several years prior to moving to Kansas City. He retired from Honeywell in 1992. John moved to Warrensburg in 1993. He married Sandra L. Reavis on Oct. 22, 1993, in Miami, Oklahoma. His passion was duplicate bridge. He was a life master of American Contract Bridge League. He also enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra; five children, Linda Norvell and husband, Lee, of Stilwell, Kansas; John Doussard Jr. and wife, Donna, of Suffolk, Virginia; Brian Doussard of Warsaw, Missouri; James Doussard of Warsaw; and Donna Quarles and husband, John, of Grandview, Missouri; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert, and sister, Jean.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg. Interment will follow in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2513, and American Legion, Post 131.
