Joyce M. Wetzel, 78, of Leeton, Missouri, died Saturday, June 14, at Western Missouri Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with Dr. Dan Lowry officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Asher, David Asher, Dan Asher, Paul Asher, Tim Asher and Tom Asher.
Interment will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at the funeral home.
She was born Aug. 21, 1935, in Overland, Missouri, the daughter of Hubert and Ruth (Higgins) Asher.
Joyce was married to Bill Wetzel, who preceded her in death in 1985.
Joyce worked as a microfilmer for Western Missouri Medical Center and later worked as a school bus driver for Warrensburg and Leeton school districts.  She enjoyed square dancing, oil painting, traveling, animals, bingo, and was a member of Pleasant Bethel Baptist Church.
Joyce is survived by two daughters, Lori Lankard and husband, Greg, of Knob Noster, Missouri; and Dianna Comstock of Leeton; two sons, Larry Parker, and wife, Suzie, of Independence, Missouri; and Scott Ryburn of Wellsville, Kansas; and one brother, John Asher, and wife, Bonnie, of Odessa, Missouri.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Nancy Keen.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Clinton Animal Shelter or the Christopher Reeve Foundation and both can be left in care of the funeral home.
