Roger W. Braley

Roger W. Braley, 73, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Tuesday, May 20, after a battle with lung cancer.
Visitation will be held at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg at 10 a.m. Friday, May 23, with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. There will be a private interment in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg.
Pallbearers will be Tom Southard, Gene Denny, Grant Denny, Brent Young, Garen Miller and James Bell. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Shadwick, Shawn Stilley and Dave Monagnan.
Roger was born Nov. 15, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Ernest and Ruth (Hodges) Braley and he was a 1962 graduate of East High School. Roger owned and operated Bar-B Machine Shop north of Warrensburg for many years. He was a longtime member of the Warrensburg Elks Lodge. He spent 46 years on the Braley family farm, where he enjoyed farming, raising livestock, hunting, fishing, playing country and bluegrass music, and spending time there with family and friends.
He is survived by wife, Cora Delores Braley; daughters, Lisa Dean of Warrensburg, and Carla Miller and husband, Garen, of St. Louis, Missouri; a stepdaughter, Sherri Varela of Liberty, Missouri; a stepson, Russell Shadwick of Harrisonville, Missouri; a sister, Deanna Young of Des Moines, Iowa; a brother, Paul Braley of Raytown, Missouri; two grandchildren, Linsa and Justin Dean; and many friends. Roger was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Barbara L. Braley, and parents, Ernest and Ruth Braley.
