Charles Franklin Steenstry

Charles Franklin Steenstry, 84, of Harrisonville, Mo., died Wednesday, May 2.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home in Holden, Mo. Graveside service is Wednesday, May 7, at the Fairview/New Hope Cemetery in Liberty, Mo., with full military honors.
He was born Sept. 20, 1929, in Avondale, Mo., a son of W.H. and Hattie Mae (Holbrook) Steenstry. He married Betty Mae Gately on Nov. 8, 1986, in Kansas City, Mo. They had lived in Liberty before moving to Harrisonville in recent years. Mr. Steenstry was an equipment operator for George Shaw and of Baptist faith. He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War.
He leaves one son, John, and wife, Debbie Steenstry, of Jacksonville, Ark.; four daughters, Paula Crawford, of Houston, Texas; Marianne Bruer of Dallas, Texas; Cheryl Lynn Kipfinger of Kernsville, N.C.; and Janet Baca of Dallas; two step-children, Richard and Linda Case of Denver, Colo., 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army or City Union Mission.
