Bernard Leland Sarbaugh died Jan. 25, at the Hospice of Salina in Salina, Kan.
Father Joseph Miller will lead a prayer service at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, and the family will receive friends until 4 p.m. for visitation services.
He was born Feb. 16, 1941, in Bloomington, Ill.  Bernie, as he was known to his friends, graduated college with degrees in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Nebraska.  He was an officer in the U.S. Air Force for 25 years and retired as a Captain at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.  Bernie received his Masters in Business Administration from Central Missouri State University and continued to work at the university for 15 years as the Coordinator for Technology and Small Business Development.  During this time, he donated his services to I.S.C. I. Sheltered Workshop in Warrensburg, Johnson County United Way, and formed the Alzheimer’s Innovation Center for Central Missouri.  Bernie was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Parish Catholic Church and a Warrensburg resident for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Barbara; his children Douglas, Brian, Randall, and Theodore; his grandson Brennan; daughter-in-law Tricia; and his best friend and most revered dog Hendrix.  Bernard was buried on Jan. 29, at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Salina, Kan.
