Donald Frank Quick

Donald Frank Quick, 86, of Holden, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 8 at the Warrensburg Veterans Home.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday Jan. 10 at Williams Funeral Chapel.  A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Chapel followed by burial at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Don was born Nov. 25, 1927, near LaTour, Mo., the son of Frank Harrison Quick and Bertha Frances (Welsh) Quick. Early on, he went to a one-room school near Quick City. He graduated from Blairstown High School in 1945. Don enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp. Following his discharge from active duty, he was united in marriage to Linda Lou Jones on Jan. 6, 1951, at Linda’s parents’ home in Clinton. He was a farmer his entire adult life. Up until February 2013, when he moved to the Warrensburg Veterans Home, Don had resided on the home place his entire life. Several years ago, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Holden, having served as grandmaster at one time. He was also a longtime member of Quick City Christian Church, and he was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; two daughters, Janet Zvacek and husband, Oscar, of Blue Springs, Mo.; and Denise Killingsworth and husband, Gary, of Willard, Mo.; son, Larry Quick and wife, Sharon, of Centerview, Mo.; three grandchildren, Andrew Killingsworth and wife, Koren, of Willard, Mo.; Daryl Quick and wife, Fairon, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Vicky Quick of Liberty, Mo.; and two great-grandchildren, Mekhi Quick and Evan Killingsworth.
Don was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Maurice.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Warrensburg Veterans Home.
