Hazel M. Rosser, 82, of Knob Noster, Mo., died Saturday, Sept. 21 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Hazel RosserMemorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Knob Noster United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bryan Wendling officiating.
Interment will be held at a later date at the Beth El Cemetery in Cheyenne, Wyo.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until noon Tuesday, Sept. 24 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Knob Noster.
She was born March 26, 1931, in Cheyenne, Wyo., the daughter of Lester L. and Elsie (Southard) Briggs.
She was united in marriage to David W. Rosser Jr. on May 31, 1950, in Cheyenne.
He preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1980.
Hazel graduated from Central High School in Cheyenne, class of 1949. She was the owner and operator of Knob Noster Clerical Services. Hazel was known as an avid card player and loved playing bridge and pitch. She also enjoyed bowling, eating out, and loved spending time with her family and friends. Hazel was a member of the Knob Noster United Methodist Church, a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the NCO Wives Club, and a member of the Eastern Star.
Hazel is survived by one daughter, Kathie Mathews, of Knob Noster; Pamela Skye Howe, who was considered a daughter; one brother, Robert “Art” Briggs, and one sister, Grace Baker, both of Cheyenne; two granddaughters, Melinda Mathews and Kayla Mathews, both of Knob Noster, and great-granddaughter Chloe Jones of Knob Noster.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clarence, Roy and Fred Briggs; and two sisters, Dorothy Oliver and Ruth Shugart.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Knob Noster United Methodist Church and can be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
