Dennis was born on October 31, 1952, in Warrensburg, the son of Raymond V. Iiams and Mildred (Stulken) Iiams. He attended Concordia High School and married Sandra Jennings on October 22, 1970 – to this union were born three sons. He proudly served two years in the Army National Guard and worked for the City of Knob Noster in the Water Department and the Street Department as a supervisor. In his early years, he made a living by working on cars and motorcycles, but he continued doing it just for fun in his later years. He also loved going fishing at every opportunity. He was a Christian by faith, and was recently attending the Christian Church of Leeton. He always thought of others first, and will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Dennis is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Sandra, of the home; three sons, Raymond Iiams, of Knob Noster, Wesley Iiams, of Leeton, Missouri, and Larry Iiams (wife Amanda), of Knob Noster; five grandchildren, Sierra, Elizabeth, Hailey, Ethan, and Bret; five step-grandchildren, Marcus, Mason, Mandy, Montana, and Megan; sister, Lois O’Dell, of Knob Noster, and her two sons whom Dennis raised as his own, David Jennings and Jeffery O’Dell; sister, Vickie Bentley (husband Lloyd), of Montserrat, Missouri; and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and one niece, Laura Bentley.
Contributions may be made to the Christian Church of Leeton and checks can be left in care of the funeral home.
