Matthew Scott Harreld, 17, of Warrensburg, died March 8, at his home of cancer.
Matthew was born on Oct. 4, 2001, in Lancaster, CA. The son of Kevin S. Harreld and Amy M. (Kelch) Harreld.
Even though Matthews life started out rough he had an amazing attitude. He had the amazing ability to see the good in, and have unconditional love for everyone. He was always smiling and laughing and that in turn caused those around him to smile and laugh and really enjoy being around him.
Matthew loved the Boy Scouts and being a scout. He loved archery, hunting and video games. He loved to cook, loved to laugh, and loved music and was his class D.J. Matthew loved roller coasters and would ride them over and over again using the experience as an outlet.
Once he and his family moved to Warrensburg, Matthew, for the first time, gained a love for going to school. Special teachers like Mrs. Sliffer and Annie Hitchman helped with this and the family wants to personally thank them.
So many memories were made through the efforts of others such as Hope Kids, Make a wish, Dave and Busters, Chief Elf and Victory Project. They helped the family have many laughs and make so many memories.
Matt is known and will be remembered for his smile, his love for others, his peace sign, his jokes and his DJ abilities.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Kevin and Amy Harreld of Warrensburg, his siblings; Brittany (Nicholas) Roach of Warrensburg, Bradley Harreld of Sacramento, CA, and Amber Harreld of Warrensburg. He is also survived by his grandfather Richard (Ellen) Harreld of Rio Oso, CA, and his Grandmother, Patricia Clark of Indiana.
