Wilton Williams, 98 of Centerview, Missouri died Tuesday, February 26, at the Warrensburg Veterans Home.

Lorenzo Wilton was born March 7, 1920, in Otterville, Missouri; son of Arthur Edwin Williams and Montia “Faye” (Fisher) Williams. He graduated from Syracuse High School and he served in the United States Army, during World War II. Wilton was united in marriage to Frances Jane Goodwin on February 20, 1949, at Pleasant Green. Following his military service, he worked for various farmers around Sedalia. He also helped his uncle at his service station, in Sedalia and drove a milk route. In 1949, the couple moved to a farm near Centerview. Wilton also was a substitute Mail carrier in the Centerview area from 1973 to 1983. He enjoyed fishing in years past and also, giving his grandchildren wagon rides around his farm.
Survivors include daughter: Jerilyn (Mike) Hatfield of Lee’s Summit, MO; son: Wendell (Janette) Williams of Lee’s Summit, MO; sister: Louise Mullett of Pilot Grove, MO; three brothers: Norman Williams of O’Fallon, MO; Donald (Bonnie) Williams of Wichita Falls, TX and Estel (Minnie) Williams of Bunceton, MO; five grandchildren: Justin (Heather) Hatfield of Raytown, MO; Jennifer (Ryan) Chambers of Blue Springs, MO; Jolene Hatfield of Lee’s Summit, MO; Lee Anne (Jordan) Johnson of Ft. Meyers, FL and Lauren Jane Williams of Lee’s Summit, MO; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; son: Wayne Allen Williams; sister: Lois Hedrick and brother: James Williams.
Funeral Services is scheduled 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at the Warrensburg Veterans Home with Chaplain John Roberts, officiating. Interment will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by United States Army Honor Guard; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #2513 and American Legion, Post #131.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time, Saturday at the chapel.
