Earl Alan “A.B.” Barnhart, 68, of Chilhowee died Sunday, Aug. 5, at his home.Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10 at Shiloh Cemetery near Chilhowee. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Loyd, Matt Barnhart, Jason Bryant, Jacob Disney, Alex Hunt, Logan Disney, Mark Barnhart and John Barnhart.
He was born Jan. 18, 1950, in Warrensburg, the son of Earl and Mable (Miller) Barnhart.
Alan loved to be outside: from fishing, hunting to maintaining the grounds at Shiloh Cemetery. His 30 plus years of working for MoDOT and building fence led to lifelong friendships. He spent many nights frying fish for friends and family to enjoy, himself, too. He loved spending time with family, especially the grandchildren.
Alan is survived by his son, Matthew (Christie) Barnhart of Joplin, Missouri; his daughters, Jennifer Disney of Warrensburg and Marcy (Jason) Barnhart Bryant of Warrensburg; his grandchildren, Jacob Disney, Logan Disney, Alex Hunt, Gracie Bryant, Anna Barnhart and Connor Bryant; two brothers, Mark (Roberta) Barnhart of Humansville, Missouri; and Don Barnhart of Florida; and his significant other, Judy Miller of Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Amanda Barnhart; and three siblings, Gary, Connie and Daniel Barnhart.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Shiloh Cemetery and can be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.
