Cecil Henry, Sr., 71, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Thursday, Jan. 25, at his home.
Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Pastor Kevin Henry and Pastor Morris Collins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service, Saturday at the funeral home.
Cecil was born Jan. 13, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, and graduated from Lincoln High School in East St. Louis, Illinois – class of ’65. He served in the U. S. Army and the U. S. Air Force, for a total of 12 years, including two tours in Vietnam.
Cecil was united in marriage to Deborah Delores Wells May 6, 1974, in Omaha, Nebraska. The family moved to Whiteman Air Force Base; moving from Knob Noster, Missouri, to Warrensburg in 1979. Cecil retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation in 2004 and started Ian & Cecil’s Lawn Service, with one of his grandsons. He was a member of Jesus Saves Pentecostal Church in Warrensburg. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was truly a family man who enjoyed home life.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah; daughter, Dawn Lowe of Warrensburg; two sons: Bernard Denmark and fiancee, Carol Yeager of Blue Springs, Missouri; and Cecil Henry II of Warrensburg; two sisters: Patricia Henry of East St. Louis, Illinois; and Connie Thompson and husband, Walter, of Dayton, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Jasmine Dellahoussaye, Sampson Deloach, Jr.; Chelsea, Olivia and Mikayla Denmark, Ian Adams and Ceeana Benne; and four nephews: Kevin, Robert, Jason and Christopher Henry. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris and brother, Reuben.
Military Honors will be provided by Whiteman Air Force Base Honor Guard; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2513 and American Legion, Post 131.
There will be a private interment at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
