Freda Geraldine Johnson, 95, of Grandview, Missouri, formerly of Warrensburg and Chilhowee, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Life Care Center in Grandview.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Chaplain Rachel Waddell of Crossroads Hospice officiating. Interment will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shannon Connely, Dominic Connely, Matthew Crounse, Brandon Erisman, Jacob Elliott, Jack Elliott, Michael Connely and Thomas Crounse.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Freda was born March 20, 1922, in Bush City, Kansas, the daughter of Joseph Floyd McGinnis and Calla B. (Harding) McGinnis. She married Clifford R. Hines and later married Orval F. Johnson on Aug. 11, 1950. Freda resided in Kansas City for the majority of her adult life. In 1968, she moved to a farm near Chilhowee. She lived in Warrensburg from 1991 until moving to Grandview in 2011. Through the years, she was employed at Rival Manufacturing in Clinton, the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, and more recently, Belton Research Hospital.
Survivors include her son, Michael Hines and wife, Dottie, of Grandview; two daughters, Bonnie Keller and husband, Michael Connely, of Harrisonville, Missouri; and Geraldine Crounse and husband, Tom, of Deepwater, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kimberly Elliott and husband, Jack, of Kansas City, Missouri; Shannon Connely and wife, Karrie, of Belton, Missouri; Stacey Gonzales and husband, Mike, of Grandview; Christie Lynn Crounse, of Overland Park, Kansas; and Matthew T. Crounse and wife, Jennifer, of Gillette, Wyoming; two step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval; two brothers, Truman McGinnis and Joseph McGinnis; two sisters, Elizabeth Yelton and Roberta Mae Badders and stepbrother, Eugene Harper.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
