Fred J. Johnson, 83, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Saturday, Oct. 28, at Western Missouri Medical Center.Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg, with Pastor James Watterson officiating.
Fred was born Oct.14, 1934, in Jasper, Alabama, son of Manuel and Pernie (Brown) Johnson. He resided in Jasper for many years, and later, Dora. He was united in marriage to Mary V. Watterson on July 29, 1983, in Kingsville, Missouri. Fred was a professional painter with Stagg Paint Company, out of Homewood, Alabama, for the majority of his adult life. Upon retiring, the couple moved to Warrensburg. Fred loved photography and he was also an artist.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; two daughters: Rebecca Johnson and Darlene Tolbert and husband, Danny all of Dora, Alabama; two stepsons: Jack L. Pajer of Kansas City, Kansas, and John R. Pajer of Warrensburg, Missouri; two grandchildren: Nicole Arias and husband, Francisco and Kevin Tolbert and wife, Heather, all of Jasper, Alabama; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son: Jamey Johnson; two sisters: Shelby Johnson and Louise Colvin; two brothers: Norman and Lecil; and grandson: Jimmy Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Rev. Larry Marsh, Andrew Marsh, David Watterson, Nicholas Watterson and Francisco Arias.
Interment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery, north of Chilhowee.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time, Wednesday at the funeral home.
