William Dwayne Carver, 79, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Sunday, Sept. 4, at his daughter’s home in Warrensburg.
William was born October 3, 1936 in Morgan County, Missouri, the son of Edward and Estella (Bailey) Carver.
In May of 1973, he and Patsy Goucher were united in marriage in Warrensburg. Two children, Gina Carver and William Carver, blessed this union. They later divorced.
William served three tours of duty in Vietnam for the US Navy. He enjoyed doing yard work, and he was big into fishing.
William is survived by two children, Gina Carver, of Warrensburg, and William Carver, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a brother, Quinton “Otho” Carver, of Independence, Missouri; and six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Delores Clark and Marlene Kelso.
Memorial services with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Classen officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the William Carver Memorial Fund with checks made payable to Gina Carver and can be left in care of the funeral home.
