Charles T. Lampman, 85, of Blue Springs, Missouri, formerly of Leeton, died Friday, Jan. 8, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16 at the Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, with Pastor Rich Cummings officiating. Burial will follow at the Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Charles was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Warrensburg, the son of Henry T. and Flossie (Hoch) Lampman.
Charles and Leta Doris Jones were united in marriage on Sept. 12, 1958, in Leeton. She preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 1992. Charles worked with the Physical Staff department at the University of Central Missouri for 28 years, he attended the First Baptist Church in Leeton, enjoyed old car shows and making the trip to Higginsville every Friday evening for catfish and ice cream. Charles never met a stranger, enjoying talking to anyone, anywhere, at any time.
He is survived by six sisters, Vietta Begemann of Odessa, Mary Noltensmeyer and husband Marcus of Higginsville, Hattie Smith of Sedalia, Dora Alexander of North Kansas City, Christine Detherage and husband John of Sedalia, and Katherine Anders of Sedalia; two brothers, Everett Lampman and wife Marilyn of Maysview and JR Lampman and wife Ruth of Blue Springs.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 28, 1992; his parents; three brothers, Earl, Forrest, and Stanley Lampman; and two sisters, Wanda Homefelt and Norma Dillon.
