May Dean (Pryor) Goodwin, 83, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Friday, Dec. 18, at her home.

Funeral services will 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with Pastor Justin Danielson officiating. Interment will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 7, 1932, the daughter of Tipton and Adah Belle (Smith) Pryor.
May Dean attended Rural Valley School and attended College High School in Warrensburg where she graduated in 1949.
She was employed at Missouri Public Service, Montgomery Ward Catalog Store, Stewart’s Shoes, and TG&Y from the day the store opened until it closed in 1984. She was hired at Wal-Mart and finished her retail career there when she retired in 2002.
May Dean loved her grandkids. She was always interested in what they were doing. She enjoyed gardening, loved planting flowers, and spent hours in the summer in her yard and flower beds. She also enjoyed bird watching, especially hummingbirds, and could be found outside most summer evenings on her deck enjoying them.
May Dean is survived by two daughters, Linda North and husband, Don, of Warrensburg; and Loretta Goodwin, of Kansas City, Missouri; one son, Keith Goodwin, and wife, Katrina, of Warrensburg; two grandsons, Nick North, of Kansas City, Missouri; and Taylor Goodwin, of Warrensburg; one granddaughter, Hannah Goodwin, of Warrensburg; three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, William and Wesley North, all of Kansas City; and two brothers, Donald Pryor, and wife, Norma, of Warrensburg; and Gene Pryor and wife, Phyllis, of Independence.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Amy Jo North; five brothers, William, Olin, Victor, Raymond and Paul Pryor; and five sisters, Bernita Urban, Althea Adams, Lenora White, Bernice Adams and Lorena Swisher.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Amy Jo North Scholarship Fund and may be left in care of the funeral home.
