(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) — The Warrensburg Police Department is still pursuing different leads on the UMB Bank theft that occurred Friday afternoon. So far, none of them have panned out.

Tim Lowry, acting chief of police, said police have not made any arrests in connection with the bank theft. He said they have talked to a couple of individuals, some have called the police and many have reached out on the department’s Facebook page.
“We had over 30,000 people view our Facebook over the weekend about that post, and so we had a lot of comments and different people have messaged us and let us know,” Lowry said.
Video surveillance inside the bank captured a white man, who was apparently unarmed, enter the Holden Street entrance of the bank at 1:52 p.m. He walked up to the bank teller and slid the teller a note that demanded money, Lowry said. The teller handed over the money. The man took the note and money and walked away.

Lowry said the suspect is a white man in his mid-20s, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, between 200 and 250 pounds, wearing a black T-shirt, dark pants and a light brown baseball cap.
Lowry said it appears that the suspect acted alone.
“When he left, he said, ‘Sorry,’ and ‘Thank you,’” Lowry said.
Anyone with information related to the bank robbery can contact the Warrensburg Police Department at 660-747-9133.
