Construction expected in 2014 on NW Mo. wind farm

(OREGON, Mo., AP) — Construction is scheduled to begin this year in northwest Missouri on the state’s largest wind farm.

The St. Joseph News-Press reports that Element Power expects its Mill Creek Wind Farm in Holt County to generate 200 megawatts of electricity that will be sold to Kansas City Power & Light.
Scott Zeimetz, project manager for Element Power, says the company has about 25,000 acres under lease with more than 100 landowners.
Construction is expected to begin in the fall, and the site is expected to begin operating by the end of December 2015.
