(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) — The University of Central Missouri’s Department of Theatre and Dance, in collaboration with the Department of Music, will present the musical The Pirates of Penzance, by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan on October 9, 10, 11, 12 at 7:30pm and October 13 at 2:00pm in the Highlander Theatre, according to a press release. Admission is $15 for the general public, $12 for UCM faculty, staff and senior citizens, and $7 for students. Children under five will not be admitted.
The box office, located in Wood 128, will be open from 9:00-3:00 on weekdays beginning Monday, September 30th for season ticket holders and Wednesday, October 2nd for the general public. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.ucmo.edu/theatre.
The Pirates of Penzance is a treasure-filled musical extravaganza packed with dazzling damsels in distress, rugged rogues and swashbuckling pirates. This popular and memorable score follows the fortune of Frederic who has been mistakenly apprenticed to the Pirate King. When Frederic falls for the lovely Mabel, the daughter of the “very model of a modern Major General,” a tempest begins to brew and mayhem breaks loose. Batten down the hatches; the pirates are coming to town.
The production is a collaboration of a talented cast and crew.  The cast of The Pirates of Penzance includes: Justin Barron as Pirate King, Joe Brueggemann as Birthday Frederic, Daniel Parman as Frederic in the Play, David LeVota as Samuel (Pirate), Bob Wearing as Modern Major General, Devin Burns as Sergeant, Haley Steele as Mabel, Nellie Maple as Ruth, Brooke Myers as Kate, Caitlin Walker as Edith. The Pirates include: Zakk Youman, Dashawn Young, Max Birdnow, Omari Collins, Jessica Baxter, Kelsey Reinsfelder, Ashley Coffer, and Lauren Smith. The Daughters include: Abbey Downs, Emily Mosier, Stephanie Laaker, Alyce Pickering, Sarah Bronson, Kristin Robertson, and Conner Bush (Isabel). The Policemen include: Brett Faulkner, Dane Schnake, Chris Scott, Tim Hanley, Adrianna Fine, Sam Rudy, Lindy Elliott, Lexi Morris, and Kaelyn Whitt.
